Having a clear picture

For the solo exhibition Hart, aber fair (Firm But Fair) by Camillo Paravicini (*1987) at the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur (01.05.-15.08.2021), I worked with the artist, who is also an excellent book designer, to design his book entitled Über alles im Bilde - Betrachtungen. The format, binding, choice of paper and typeface as well as the tricky use of a special dark blue color led to a result that plays with clichés of art education as well as writing and talking about art and makes fun of them, but never loses itself in flat art bashing, but rather encourages people to question their own expectations of art and art viewing through “pinpoint indifference”. A book for everyone and no one. Thanks to the artist and to Damian Jurt, the curator of the exhibition as part of the Manor Art Prize.

The sound of Infinity

My book Das Unendliche altert nie (Infinity Doesn’t Age) with 400 ink drawings inspired by pre-Socratic fragments (published in 2019 by Edizioni Periferia) has already spread far and wide, there have even been orders from Chile and New Zealand. And my good friend Wolfgang Kordbarlag has recorded improvisations on the piano to some of the drawings in the book.
